Pamela was attracted to Mosaic as she views its creation, reflects life. The gathering, organizing and assemblage was a visual hook for her 2-dimensional design expertise. It embraces the simplicity, harmony and organic nature of a Zen Garden. It is a dance of order + chaos. Some have a strong narrative quality and others are more abstract. But they all hold a sense of mystery and magic.
Pamela started as a child in her collecting, as her mother was an avid fossil hunter and soap stone carver.
Wearable Mosaic
The adornment, amulet necklaces are a tactile meditation. The design balance springs from a vast collection of natural stones, copies of ancient Tibetan metal beads and some glass beads outsourced from artisans all over the world. The findings are top quality and the fine braided wire is extremely strong. From selection to creation, each amulet takes Pamela up to 5 or 6 hours. Each color and size change is as deliberate as a protection prayer, for its new owner. Pamela often wears one and acts on an impulse to give one away to someone she meets. Their existence and creation is a spirit commitment.
