Mosaic and Acrylic Paintings are about telling a story. I have to get out of the way of my thinking brain, for those pieces to be generated. Once i am finished a body of work, i have to live with it until i understand where and why they came into existence. These pieces sit on the edge of looking inside the living organism. They are flowing and blocked stations in our bodies and in nature.

Pamela Rodger's Past Sculptural Projects
Why + What ? The 2 word that lead me to mythology, sociology + symbolism.
I spent years + a couple of my extended Banff School of the Art's residencies focusing + researching on the historic, cultural + religious death rites.
My sculptures reflected the themes: "Tomb Protectors," "Boats for the Soul to Cross the River" and "Ritual Vessels to entice the gods + quiet the spirits."
Death can only exist with its twin, LIFE.
The "Cave Dwellers" sculpture are the ripe promise of seeds of new life, awaiting in the belly of Mother Earth.
The white angels ( Inuksut ) figures give Protection+ Direction for the fruition of the seeds.
